Sandra K. Ambrose is a Martindale-Hubbell AV-Rated Preeminent Lawyer (2012-2020), one of the Top Women Lawyers in Orlando, Florida (2011-2012) and the founding attorney of Sandra K. Ambrose, a leading divorce and family law firm in Lake Mary, Florida.
Ms. Ambrose received a B. A. degree (cum laude) from the University of South Florida in 1980 and a J.D. from the Florida State University College of Law in 1985. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1986. She served as General Magistrate/Hearing Officer for the 18th Judicial Circuit Family Division from March 1993 until July 2003 where she heard thousands of family related matters, such as child support enforcement, child custody, equitable distribution, paternity, and divorces, as well as mental health cases.
In 2003, Ms. Ambrose joined one of Seminole County’s oldest and most respected law firms, Stenstrom, McIntosh, Colbert & Whigham, P.A. as one of the firm’s two divorce and family lawyers.
Ms. Ambrose left Stenstrom to opened her own law firm in 2013 and she continues to represent clients in need of divorce (dissolution of marriage), modifications of prior orders for support and timesharing, child support and custody/timesharing, alimony and spousal support, contempt and enforcement actions, paternity, guardian advocacy actions for dependent children.
A skilled and experienced litigator and negotiator, Ms. Ambrose advocates for her clients in the courtroom as well as protecting their interests during alternative dispute negotiations, such as mediation, arbitration, or private settlements. Her experience on the bench, as well as in front of the bench, adds a valuable perspective to share with her clients before, during and after the negotiation and litigation process.
Ms. Ambrose received Supreme Court recognitions for her pro bono work with the Seminole County Guardian ad Litem program. In 2006, she was recognized by the Seminole County Bar Association Legal Aid Society for her contribution in serving the local community as a Pro Bono attorney. She has been an adjunct professor in legal studies at both Valencia Community College and Rollins College, and has spoken to attorneys and non-lawyers on many issues, including, The Art of Negotiation, Sunshine Law in Florida, Evidence in the Hearing Process.
Ms. Ambrose’s love of teaching and children’s issues spans her lifetime. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Ambrose worked as an educator teaching children in Tampa, Florida. As an attorney, she has consistently worked for children, including being the Program Attorney for the State of Florida Guardian ad Litem Program, volunteering as a private Guardian ad Litem, volunteering with children’s charity organizations and protecting children’s interests in each family case she handles.
Ms. Ambrose lives and works in Seminole County, Florida. She represents clients in Seminole, Volusia, and Lake Counties in matters related to martial separation and divorce.
